under muted cobalt
i drew the curves of my spine
upon a lonesome chalkboard,
as chain-link rain fell hard from melancholy cloud,
collapsing upon bandaged marble remain
staped to swollen sidewalk by odious hands,
in retribution
for the splintered mantra's reprise.
streetlights are dying and roads have become brittle
from constant convulsions
but i pay no mind.
night before last,
chequered words crawled out of my lungs
filling expanse between hollow hallucinations
waltzing around throat contours, blistered
from ragged silence that once bled through the stitches
that sealed grey substance
on which i choked.
my eyes opened upon concrete this morning
and met out-of-focus blurred figures atop a makeshift stage
-decomposing shapes harbouring imitation humanity,
their cold stares screaming
as they ricochet off scribbles on walls
