Ah, yesterday.

One of the most funnest days working at Catalog.

I slept 2hrs max the previous night though, because I had to do research on the FashionAssasins fellow.

So, yeah. My day began earlier than usual. Went to the office, did some cataloging, cut out paper dolls [don't ask, just look out for this in the dec issue], then realised Phin was stuck at rehearsals and cannot look thru my questions. Panicked. Then Jeremy comes and saves the day and looked thru them and gave suggestions for more. Thank God.

Speaking of Jeremy, it has only occured to me that he's very good looking. I think it grows on you, lah. Very sharp features, tall, tanned and very gay. Haha.

Anyhow, my interview was with Alex Zaboto-Bentley, designer of FashionAssasins, Men's Director for Vogue at the age of 25, yaddayaddyadda. Very big shot in the Australian fashion industry, basically.

Then after the interview at Tangs, which was kickass [but not as much lurved as the Vagina Monologues one] went back to the office, talked to Phin and Weiling. Did more cataloging, went out to shop again.

Oh, I forgot to mention. The FashionAssasins guy gave me a free tee-shirt. And told me to "wear it to the Tangs partay and I'll see you at the Vodka Bar"

Anyway. After I shopped, returned to the office to deposit the stuff, I went home to shower, take a nap and change [and wear that FashionAssasins tee for which Phin wanted to pull the ranks and claim the tee for himself] and cabbed down to Holland V for food tasting.

Yum.

T'was at Da Paolo's Pizza, this french restaurant which is not exactly at Holland V, it's at Jalan Mera Saga, a road next to it. Anyway, the food was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. We had calamari for starters [which was a good 17 bucks if you had to pay for it]. Oh, we meaning me and Jeremy coz Phin was late, as per usual. Then for main course, we had this kickass seafood pizza, which had a black crust and a so-so mushroom pizza. Then Phin came and decided to devour the seafood pizza even tho he's allergic to prawns, ordered yet another pizza [mind you, these things are HUGE] with blue cheese and pineapples which was also amazing. The desert was a downer though, coz I expected something better. Also the tiramisu was good.

The best thing about hanging out with Phin is that he gives me tons and tons of advice about the print industry and how it's a fucked up place. Oh, and I love their gay talk about who's cute and who's fuckable or not.

Speaking of fuckable, there was this guy who emailed Catalog editorial asking for an internship. How did he do that? "Dear Phin, I think you're fuckable." WHAT THE FUCK?! And yeah, more stories of freako intern-wannabes.

Oh yeah, and at the end of the meal we concluded that I'm really gonna be a pimp and start a whorehouse and they can be freelance pimps and recruit people. heh.

Yup. Then we cabbed to Phin's place where he had to freshen up. And I came to the realisation of how close his place was from school. Lucky phuck. Then we cabbed down to Tangs for the Tangs Partay where they were relaunching the 2nd and 3rd levels.

And the people there were the likes of the rich and famous. Tan Kheng Hua, Lum May Yee [who was a total bitchorama prima donna], that Rebecca something? [ex Lee Hua Jewelry spokeperson], loads and loads and loooooads of industry people.

Their door gift, to begin with was a ring. To which both Jeremy and Phin exclaimed at the same time, "Is this a cock ring?!" Which I thought was pretty funny. But we're supposed to collect these trinkets thing and make it into a key ring of some sort. I just put my trinkets on my charm bracelet, so not it has a bag, a pair of shoes and a pair of jeans with a really nice bum.

Then they had a huge ganzaboo flurry of alcohol after alcohol, wine after wine, vodka after vodka while shopping. I thought the new levels were a no biggie, but since we had a 20-dollar voucher which was to be used that night, I bought brown high top converse sneakers.

Then we bumped into Enlai Chua who's really really funny and he decided to buy sneakers. Jeremy bought CK underwear for 5 bucks [and left it at the MAC makeup counter while getting his make up done]. Phin was stressing and going "I need to BUY something!"

After seven hundred thousand smoke breaks [and I honestly don't know why I'm not smoking yet because all I do is breathe in cigarette smoke every 7 seconds, so I shouldn't even bother] and glasses of champagne later, Enlai bought a pair of kickass Pony shoes, we lost Jeremy, Phin wanted to get converses as well but they didnt come in his size, he wanted to get this G Star hat but didnt come in his size either [he has a huge head and huge feet!], fell in love with a Vicious Threats jacket [whose designer Jeremy interviewed] which costs a good 999 smackeroos and then FINALLY bought this damn gorgeous name card holder.

Oh. I met Joshua from the other cohort [who's working for Style mag] there as well.

Anyway, yeah. After meeting gajabillions of people, drinking like no tmr, looking at clothes like no tmr, yaddayaddayadda, went to happy and went home late.

If there was one thing that summed up the Tangs' party, it would be something Phin said, "I think Hell would be like this."

So yeah. Another day in the life of an intern at Catalog Magazine.

Not that I'm complaining. -Insert smug hugeass smile here-

[Catalog Nov issue out this weekend! Look out for it!]
