Because I've Got Sexuality Issues.

I was woken up today by a kid who came bursting into my room screaming "KAKAK!!!" [i.e.: older sister in malay].

No, the parents didnt have another accidental kid, it was the neighbour's 2-year old girl who has this superhuman power of making my day a blast when she screams "KAKAK!!!" from behind her closed gate whenever I come home from school.

[Her name's Honey btw. Yes, H-O-N-E-Y. crazy parents.]

Lucky for her it was already 3 in the afternoon. I feel so truimphant whenever I get to wake up really really late.

Anyway, if you notice the pheektures I've put up on the post below, it was Christy's 18th. She can finally dump aside the fake ID that Pam excruciatingly churned out for her unless she wants to go to Wala's 2nd level or any other clubsbarspubs whose age limit is still 21. Nothing fancymancy, just at a bar at Serangoon Gardens called Happy Daze [I am still amazed at how stupid some names are. I mean, if I were to open a bar/shop/salon, I'd name it something cool. Not Happy Daze, Personality Salon or Forever 21. Daaayum stoooopid, if you ask me.] Left early to go back to the office to sort stuff out... and Dinesh told me Heather lost her phone. I sure hope she found her phone back... I'd honestly shoot myself if I lost mine anyway.

Speaking of phones, my beloved abdominable sibling just ordered the new 7620. Or something close to that lah. I, on the other hand, have a fucked up Samsung phone which still looks as sexy as ever. Only problem is that its sound suddenly goes karploosh and I can't hear a thing from the other end of the line and it switches itself off. Bleeding hell. I'd prolly have to go back to the Nokia2100 which has proven its worthy of my use even after continuing to be in perfect condition after the numerous times I've dropped it.

Fuck this shit, I've given up wanting new phones. The depreciation rate is far too crazy.

Back to the topic of age limits and fake IDs earlier, you'd have to admit while some age limits are useful, others are pretty dumb. Like RA21? Fuck that, just make it RA18, or something. Seriously, it's not like I'm a horny slut dying to watch people fuck around [and even if I am, there is always the internet]. For the love of God, we're old enough to have sex, but we're not old enough to watch people have sex. Pretty damn stupid if you ask me.

I have so many things against the govenment, it's not even funny. Take the rejection of Fridae's Snowball.04 for example.

Quoting the article posted up on Fridae.com, 'Despite the fact that Nation.04 had been nominated for "Best Event Experience" in the 2005 Singapore Tourism Awards, the Police said that “the event is likely to be organised as a gay party which is contrary to public interest in general."'

Before you bastardized assholes start calling me a fag-lover or a fag...

Wait, let me clarify this. I don't find someone calling me fag or a fag-lover offensive, I find the term 'fag' offensive to my friends, to the people I love. Seriously, in accordance to my religion, homosexuality is bad. Homosexuals are not.

Anyway, back to what I was talking about. I'd like to quote a letter to Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong from the CEO of Fridae.com : 'I understand that not everyone in Singapore society agrees with homosexuality as a concept, and that social attitudes will take time to change. However, it is not mere concept but reality for us who live and breathe it every day. And we want to live in a country that accepts us as who we are, allowing us the social and civil liberties of conducting our lives in a normal way, just like any other citizen of Singapore.'

Dr Stuart Koe added, "Snowball may only be a singular, insignificant event to most people, but to the gay community that doesn’t have many outlets and channels to begin with, it is a major event that they look forward to, a safe space for them to be themselves, celebrate the year end, and feel proud that they are doing so on home ground."

Seriously, it's pretty fucked up if you think about it. The police have approved all seven applications prior to Snowball and have been present at every single one, thus they can't claim ignorance of the nature of these events. Nation.04, for example, attracted over 8, 000 participants and earned Singapore a name in dailies and top news agencies like Far Eastern Economic Review, Wall Street Journal, CNN, Reuters, AFP and AP newswires, Asahi Shimbun, Sydney Morning Herald, South China Morning Post. It also earned the title of the "Best Event Experience" in the 2005 Singapore Tourism Awards and was estimated to have generated S$10million in tourism revenue, exceeding even that of the 2004 Global Entropolis convention, which generated an estimated S$6million in the same period of time.

I have to admit, my interest in gay and lesbian rights have been spurred from working with amazing people at Catalog. As a media practioner, I'm only bringing light to these and one of the only reasons I'd fucking mad is that the justifications behind the rejection is ridiculous. I'm sorry, but in case you didn't notice, it is the 21st century.

It's kinda like the feminism fight. It has taken decades, perhaps centuries and we haven't even attained the rights we have been fighting for. I don't know if the homosexuality culture be accepted entirely in any time to come. i've always thought that for feminism to reign, men have to accept the fact that women deserve as much rights as they do, and most men still think otherwise. We'll only attain our deserved rights if men fight with us.

Then if you come to the topic of homosexuality, both men and women are fighting. Together. Who's to give up what rights?

... [i need some time to collect my thoughts. Too many things racing far too fast in my head. Not funny.]

Motherfuckheads.
